Special ASCI character assignment

We have our own fonts in which we have included our special symbols in addition to the usual character set. E.g. for telephone under character F88D (hex).
These characters are not adopted in Trados 2019 in the target language. Do we perhaps have to make special presettings?

Thank you
Michael

  • Are you sure these symbols are handled in the font being used for the target language?  Have you tried ensuring the font set you need is selected for the target language?

You can specify the font you need for the target language here:

Trados Studio screenshot showing the Font Adaptation options with a red arrow pointing to Custom Language Fonts section, highlighting the Language dropdown menu set to Afar (Djibouti).

Also note... every time you look in here it will always show "Afar (Djibouti)" even after you set a font for a particular language.  This is just because all languages are here and this is the first in the list.  I've seem some confusion with that.
