In theory you should not need to prompt a TB search as it does it automatically.
But the possibility to add a shortcut is possible by going to File - Options - Shortcut and defining one. See below

Please do let me know if your terms are not being recognised automatically as that is what should be the expected behaviour

In theory translators dont need to do so many clicks as they have to do in Trados.

It doesnt search, just opens the TB Search window.

I need a same simple behavior as F3

I would be delighted if I could have a shortcut key to search in the termbase in the editor view. Setting a shortcut does *not* work indeed. It's been 2 years now since that issue was raised. Any idea when it will be fixed ?

By the way, there used to be a great feature in the Workbench (yes, that's a long time ago!) : one could simply click on the red line above a term and the termbase recognition panel would show the term instantly.Has anybody ever tried to develop such a feature in Studio (as a plugin)?

(The current approach consisting of displaying all the terms of a segment is very time-consuming when one has a very big termbase [50000 terms]- it usually takes 4 seconds to display, which really is disproportionate).

I think some of your suggestions are great and you should add them to the ideas page

Feels like I am not alone in the strugle.

It all worsens due to the fact that Trados TB recognition can not handle Russian word endings (terminations) that results in not showing a term in Regognition window or false positive findings.

Western-laguaged people may not realize how important it is to be able to see roots of words / word forms enabling translators to "see the roots" to ensure consistancy in target term formation.

Simply a shortcut would assist in that struggle.

PS: are we paid for giving ideas or you charge for your software significant $? 

Thanks Lydia. I can add my suggestions to the ideas page, but my primary concern is : "when will that bug be fixed" (it is just a shortcut key that's not correctly handled and I don't see any difficulty in correcting the bug)...

I understand. German is also a problem with the separable phrasal verbs...
