• What version of Studio are you using?
• Do you know what version of GroupShare this file is associated to?
• What is the native file format?
• Can you open this file outside of the project?

Dear Lydia,

Thank you very much for your kind reply.

I'm using Trados 2021 and the problem often occurs with .idml files, which I can open outside of the project only by exporting them as a Word file using the "Export for external review" function (since I don't have Adobe InDesign). The GroupShare version is from 2017.

Would you be so nice as to tell me how to save the error stack for you? The problem came up this morning and I've already sent the project to the LSP I work with using a "workaround". Is there a way I can retrieve it from the system?

When you get the error I think you should be able to click on the blue save icon.
It will save an XML that you can then attach to this case

What I am trying to understand is, is this a file related issue or a GroupShare issue.

So: 

Q1: Do you have issues even if you simply check in and check out - despite no changes were made in the editor view?

Q2: What if you go the projects view, explore containing folder, locate the updated sdlxliff. Then try open as single document?
Can you open, change, save error free?

Unfortunately, I cannot save any XML version of the file because the document associated with the problem has been blocked by the LSP. I will attach the XML file if the error occurs again (hopefully not!).

Here are the answers to your questions:

Q1: No, the problem occurs only when checking in a file which has been translated or proofread.

Q2: I'll repeat this procedure if the error occurs again (see above) and let you know in this thread.

Q3: I have two GroupShare connections.

I've just noticed that, despite being blocked, the file allows me to implement the steps you described in Q2. So, here is my answer:

Yes, I can open, change and save the document error free. The problem seems to occur only when it comes to checking in files.
