Could help us to identify the problem to create a cloud project and choose a server?

Dear Paul,

We bought a professional network-based edition for our organization. we bought one license for three users. we tried to make a cloud project, we choose the shared folder of the department as a place for our cloud projects, but the below message appeared. we need an answer for the following: Does this license allow us to create 3 separate accounts on the Trados server or on any other server (each with different username and password) ) to store our cloud translation projects? if yes, could you please walk us step by step to make the accounts , so we can make a successful cloud project?. if the access is guaranteed by default (because we bought this product) could you please tell us what are the network requirements or the configurations for the server needed?

Apologies for the many questions.

  • I think you have misunderstood this for several reasons:

    1. You purchased a network licence that allows you to activate three instances of Studio concurrently.  That is all.
    2. You are trying to add a GroupShare Server.  First of all this is a separate product you would need to purchase, and secondly it's not a cloud solution.  It is merely a server solution that allows you to create shared projects, translation memories, termbases and allocate the work in a semi-automated workflow.
    3. If you want a cloud solution to support multiple users sharing projects then you need to look at Trados Live Team.

I hope this clarifies things for you?  Although I imagine you will have some questions based on your original post.

  • You are right Mr. Paul, I have so many questions. I'm so confused.  We accessed the vendor asking for the latest Trados edition that allows us to work together on the same project simultaneously. We are not familiar with the fine differences in your technical language, simply we wanted to work together as a team on the same project. we didn't know the difference until we tried to make a cloud project and provided the server that hosts our shared folder as a location for these projects.  Now that we know that the vendor bought us a different product, or not the one needed, what can we do? please advise us. man thank s
