"Align Documents" does not working.

Hi

I'm 2017 user and it's a English > Korean pair.

Target files is generated yesterday with "Language Weaver"

Because, it is processed File level there is no segment pair.

So, I guess, It should be the best way to use "Align Documents"

But, It gives me an Error only.

I am attaching, SourceEnglishDocxFile, TargetKoreanDocxFile and ErrorMessageTextFile resulted from Align step.

Thanks a lot

  • I tried this with the 2017 version and had the same problem as you.  So I opened the files in MS Word and resaved them.  This seemed to update them as I get this message:

Microsoft Word dialog box stating 'Your document will be upgraded to the newest file format' with options to proceed or cancel.

Then I tried again and this time it was fine:

Trados Studio interface showing a document open with text segments and a warning message indicating a file update is needed.

I have attached the resaved files for you to try:

    FILES REMOVED

I don't know what version of Office you have or what version of Office the files came with but however the original Word file was created certainly seems to be playing a part here.
