Which version of Power Pack is to be used with Studio 2021 CU 9?

Hi

Now that CU 9 of Studio 2021 has been released, I am not sure which version of the "Trados Compatibility and Migration Power Pack" needs to be installed.

For CU 7 and above it was version 16.2.8.1889, which currently is the only one that can be downloaded from the AppStore.

On my PC, I do have a version 16.2.9.1887, which seems to indicate that it is meant to be used with CU9. However, I cannot find this version for download anymore.

And when I try to download from the integrated AppStore of Studio 2021 CU 9, which should be the suggested correct way to get the right version, I get this error:

Screenshot of SDL Trados Compatibility and Migration Power Pack page on RWS AppStore with an error message stating 'Download for SDL Trados Compatibility and Migration Power Pack failed. Make sure you are logged in to Language Cloud.'

It says that the software cannot be downloaded because one is not logged in to LC, which must be a misleading error message because (1) I am logged in and (2) I can download any other plugin without problems.

Can anyone bring some clarity in this uncertainty? Would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Walter

  • I just tested this with CU9 installed it seems to work just fine:

Screenshot of RWS AppStore showing a completed download of SDL Trados Compatibility and Migration Power Pack with an arrow pointing to the 'Go to your AppStore Downloads folder and launch the app' instruction.

For CU 7 and above it was version 16.2.8.1889

CU9 is above CU7 so I think it's fair to say this version is ok for CU9 as well.  Why is this confusing?

It says that the software cannot be downloaded because one is not logged in to LC, which must be a misleading error message because (1) I am logged in and (2) I can download any other plugin without problems.

It seems strange you can download other apps and not this one.  I'll have to ask the development team responsible for the administration of the accounts to take a look at your account and see if they can find anything odd.  I'll log a ticket... but the response won't be quick as they normally take a few days to get to these.  In the meantime are you able to download and install from the AppStore directly?
