Hello,
I have many old TMs only as tmw file (maybe from 2007 or 2009 version of Trados) and can not open them.
How can I use them in my version Studio 2021 SR2?
I can not upgrade the TMs - the field is not active - it is grey.
What can I do?

Please install the SDL Trados Compatibility and Migration Power Pack - go to the AppStore within your Studio and install it from there.

I have tried this plugin and it fails. Why is that?
I have no idea. Perhaps you can provide the *.tmw, *.mwf, *.mtf, *.mdf and *.iix files and we can test. Zip them up and attach to your post.
You could also provide the error stack by copying it into a code block through the "insert" menu or just attach it as an xml which you can save by clicking here:
Also... maybe try putting the TM files onto your C drive just in case this is causing a problem somehow.

Here is link to the TM. The error stack couldn't be saved. Studio actually froze after trying to save the stack...
Plese delete the link to the TM from my post after you download it.
I've tried to save the TM on C disc with the same error and freezing of the software again.
I don't see the link... but it was in the notification email so I sent you a request to access from my gmail account.

ok - I have the files, thank you. It looks to me as though your problem is related to this file:
CC24167777.mdf_
Try renaming it like this:
CC24167777.mdf
Then try again. You actually get the same error in Translators Workbench unless you rename this file. It also works in Studio now too:
