Problem with autopropagation of spaces

Hi there,

I've just noticed that autopropagation is removing or adding a space if I confirm one of the following:

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing inconsistent autopropagation of spaces in number and letter combinations, such as '2A' being changed to '2 A' and vice versa.

In other words, if I confirm 2A = 2A, all instances of 2 A = 2 A are autopropagated to 2 A = 2A and the reverse (with any number followed by A with or without a space). I will check further instances and number+letter combos when I have time. I don't have time to investigate further today, but I am positive this wasn't happening with the beta version. I'll also do all the usual, Windows repair etc.

Anyone else experiencing this??

It's driving me nuts!

  • Hi again Lyds,

This isn't something that is resolvable. The only adjustment that can be made is, as Jerzy rightly pointed out, is that of the auto-substitution of measurements and in a document that has long lists of both measurements and non-measurements as this job did, it is not possible to change the settings so that Studio can recognise which is which.

It's also not possible to give the text properties that indicate whether it's a measurement or flowing text.

So, I've pointed out something that can't be solved except by manual checking using display filters.

Sorry, I was over-zealous in reporting this yesterday. This isn't a bug. It must have occurred before in previous documents I've reviewed but this is the first time in a long while that I've had a document with so many instances that it appeared to be something new.

Feel free to delete this post!

    All the best,

    Ali Smiley
