Make a copy of a project or the translated files

Good afternoon

I would like to know how to make a copy of a project or the translated files before doing an "export for bilingual review" (.review file).

I often have problems to re-import the proofread .review file. If I want to try one or the other it is good to have duplicates of the project or at least the file.

What is this function "Create backup copy of project file before updating"?
Where can I find this backup copy afterwards, for what case is it created, how can it be used later?

    The easiest way is to open the project in Windows Explorer:

    Then copy the folder that opens.  For example if I select a project and use this icon I am taken here:

    If I go up a level to "MTQE Template (the name of this particular project I opened)" I can then copy the entire folder.

    Or I can go into the target language folder and just copy the SDLXLIFF file.  This is the file containing all the translations.  In my example, en-GB is the source language, so if I wanted to back up the fr-FR I just go into the folder and see this:

    Two files being translated and I can just copy them and put them wherever I like.  If I want to revert back to this file I just overwrite whatever changes I made with this one and I'm back to where I was before.

    You could also use a plugin such as Post-Edit Compare which allows you to keep saving versions of your projects, compare them, but also reinstate a particular version if you need to.  There's a video in this article explaining how it works if you're interested:

    It creates a backup of the SDLXLIFF file before the current one is updated with your bilingual review file.  Why don't you try it?

    You'll find it in the same folder as your SDLXLIFF files.  For example:

    It's clearly marked and all you'd have to do would be to remove the new SDLXLIFF created after the import and then rename the IP-13-637_EN.docx.backup001 back to IP-13-637_EN.docx.sdlxliff.

    Good morning

    I have another problem with a translation project that is proofread via "Export for bilingual review".

    I made additional corrections in the "Export for bilingual review", after I had already made "Update from bilingual review".

    I previously ran "Reject all changes in document" to have the original translation again without corrections before import.

    When I run "Update from bilingual review" afterwards, there is no error message, but the corrections are not transferred. Nothing happens.

    Could you please write me why this is so and what I have to do differently?

    I would like to check from time to time if the import "Update from bilingual review" succeeds by importing the latest file as a test. How can this be done quickly?
