Projects disappear after closing/reopening Studio 2014 on Windows 8.1 - 64 bit

Question

I start a new project importing a package, open it, save it and close it. And then, the next day, when I open Studio again to continue working on it again, it's gone! 
 Fortunately, the project itself is still there, in the folder I chose initially, but I have to open the studio project file to continue working. This is very annoying. I think this is related to Windows 8 or 8.1, because it didn't happen on Windows 7.

Many apologies for the very late response. I hope you are not still encountering this problem? 
 
It sounds as though the problem might be related to the project filter because set to display completed projects perhaps, or some other status that this project is not! It's quite easy to hit the filter without realising and then wonder where the projects went. 
 
The only other thing I can think of would be windows permissions that are preventing you from writing the project list to Studio.
