Superfluous xliff files

Question

Hi everyone, there's something that has been bothering me a long time.For some reason, Trados Studio (2017, 2019, 2021) creates several copies of xliff files when saving a project for the first time. These appear in Windows Explorer with the same name as the xliff file + a 6 figure number. It takes up a considerable amount of disc space. A couple of weeks ago, I manually removed these superfluous files from my hard disc for 1 client and 1 year. It took me about 4 hours of work and I gained 17 GB of disc space... It doesn't really hinder my work but if there is a way to avoid this (or an automated way to delete them), I would like to know about it... Thanks very much.

 Looking at the time stamps this looks more like some sort of file history problem in Windows. Have you investigated this?

 I don't now why only Trados Studio is affected but I would be surprised if this the problem here. However... stranger things have happened! The only thing I can think that "might" be misbehaving due to some other conflict on your machine would be the AuutoSave. Try turning it off: 
 
 Otherwise I'd look at this sort of thing and see if you can exclude the folders you use for your projects: 
 I also don't know if this is exactly your problem... just guessing. But I think it's worth looking at any software you are running that could be the cause of backups being created. OneDrive is also known to do this sort of thing, but I read it adds the computer name to the end and not a random number as you have. So perhaps it has something to do with that?
