Confirm but not update TM

Question

Hello, there is a similar thread, but it&rsquo;s over five years old, and my problem is slightly different. (Old thread: https://community.rws.com/product-groups/trados-portfolio/trados-studio/f/studio/13312/confirm-but-not-update-tm-sdl-trados-studio-2017 ) 
 How can I confirm a segment and avoid updating the TM? I often have of segments where I am sure that the sentence will never ever crop up again, so why clog the TM with that? What is more, sometimes there reappears a sentence that is in the TM already and which has a different meaning in the new context&hellip; which may be a rare context, so I would like to keep the standard translation in the TM. 
 The other (unproblematic) new segments of course should still be updated. 
 Has a solution been devised in the meantime?

The most efficient way is to use "ShourtCut" as previously commented. 
 The others are.. never mind, not efficient at all.

 Nope... it would be fairly trivial. This forum is a good place to ask for help if you've never done it before:

 There are also many examples in there so you could also look at them to see how things are done... although I'd recommend you avoid Kelly's scripts for the time beig or you'll be frightened off... he does some quite clever and complex stuff. But for the basics there are plenty of examples on how to work with it. Or, just explain what you want to do and I'm sure someone will help you out.

IN such cases I simply click Change Segment Status (or right click the segment) to change the status manually. Usually this is no hassle, as in my case at least there are not many such segments.

 I guess you just want to change the status to confirmed and move on. Unfortunately (I don't think) there isn't a shortcut for this out of the box, but you could use this app: 
 https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/segment-status-switcher/754/ 
 That would get you a shortcut to change the status so you'd be halfway there. Then you could create an autohotkey script to use whatever shortcut you liked that changed the status and moved to the next segment. 
 Maybe someone has a better idea, but that's the way I'd approach it I think.
