AutoSuggest of numbers in text (where no actual change)

Hi Trados Gooroos,

Could smb pls advise what is going on with the 3 mm below. Why Trados recognize a changed content even if it is totally the same number, same millimeters and even in the same document?

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing a segment comparison with a 98% match. The source text and target text both contain '3 mm' highlighted, indicating a recognition issue.

Given a bunch of such segments in many docs my translation tend to slow down significantly. Any solution?

Spasibo a bunch!

  • Hi ,

I think I more or less was able to reproduce what you describe:

Trados Studio screenshot showing a translation segment with the term '4 mm' highlighted, indicating a potential issue.

Please confirm if your TM has the upgrade symbol when viewing it within your project settings:

Screenshot of Trados Studio project settings with an English-German translation memory selected, showing enabled languages.

The reason why I was able to reproduce the TM track change despite 4 mm had not changed between TM and TU was because I amended my TM settings:

Trados Studio Translation Memory settings with 'Measurements' unchecked under the 'Recognize' section, indicating a configuration issue.

And when doing that I got this warning, which I subsequently ignored, which caused the warning:

Information dialog box in Trados Studio stating 'The translation memory needs reindexing or other maintenance. For optimum performance, select the TM from the list, and, on the context menu, select 'Upgrade Translation Memory'.

So in summary, please check your Language Resource settings, and I should think you would want measurements enabled.
Please  also ensure you have upgraded your TM.

    Hope it helps!
