Studio 2021, TM corrupt, Repair Tool doesn't work,

Question

Hi everybody, 
 I've been working on a big project in Trados Studio 2021, I get an error message (...this is often a sign that the TM is corrupt) so I downloaded the Repair Tool from the apps store and ran it and was told I should restart Trados but I can't close Trados without using Task Manager! The only good news is that I can see the first page of the TM in the TM view window (I hope the rest of the pages of the TM are still there. Can anybody please help me out of this Kafkaesque nightmare?

 Yes. 
 Then reset Trados Studio. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16 
 So the path would become this: 
 c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16_old 
 If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders: 
 https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/show-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-vista/ 
 Let us know if this resolves the problem of starting and working at least. If it does do you still have a problem with that TM?

 You mentioned you had some object reference error, which doesn't sound like the same message? Perhaps try the solution here :

 That will hopefully get you up and running. I'd also suggest you only install the plugins you put back via the integrated appstore and don't use any you happen to have from your previous installation. This is the way to always get the latest version for the version of Trados Studio you are running.
