It might be related to you not having access to the application that should be used for this... for example. If you have Office 365 installed and it's not local you can have this kind of effect. The workaround is to install a local copy so that might not even be possible for you if that's the issue.

I do have a local Office, but when pressing Print Preview as Side-by-Side, it comes up as html, which is fine, as that is what I need, a clean text (as Preview almost is never availble anymore, because most sourves are in xliff or such formats. So I get the side-by-side, and would like as target.

ok - what is your source file format? If it's xliff as you mention then this won't be possible.
