File association

Question

Hi everyone, 
 I have a problem with Trados Studio 2014 professional. I installed it on my collegues computer which has Windows 8. But now the file association is not working. We have tried associating the different files with Studio but when we click the file it just opens Trados not the file we clicked on. Anyone here encountered this?

Hi Björn, 
 
Running a repair may well sort it. If not, it's no big deal to uninstall and reinstall; you don't have to deactivate your license when you're reinstalling on the same PC and it takes very little time. 
 
I personally would uninstall MultiTerm then Studio, then reinstall first Studio then MultiTerm. 
 
Others might just do Studio which will probably work fine. 
 
It helps keep Studio working efficiently to run a Windows Repair on it from time to time. Especially if there's been a big Windows update.
