Sure. This is a test file similar to the documents received from the client.

as you can see

Trados Studio " Knows " it from top to toe.

The two arrows (two tags) mean "Permisson to edit" Starts and "Permisson to edit" Ends

So, when The company deny or fail to give you nice solution.
I will test it.

My idea is quite simple.

Lock segments until it reach "Permission to edit Start" tag
Then stop Lock segment until it reach "Permission to edit End" tag
and do it again and again

I added a style "tw4winInternal" to WordDocument via VBA
But...
This is quite inconvenient than the above.

Indeed, this should have been the easy way to go but tricky without using VBA.  In fact probably not possible unless you are able to unprotect the document first and then manually work your way through it... which could be unworkable depending on the amount of content like this.

That seems a neat solution and probably worth paying for if you have a lot of files like this.  I hope you get some interest with that.

Thank you for your interesting point of view. However, I am a bit confused how you managed to see the permStart, permEnd tag. I understand it is a Paid service, but is it a Plugin? Or you used a paid software to pre-process the word file before importing it in Trados?

In Trados Studio the default display is "All segments", but if you use the display filter you can change this to show "All content".  Kelly is just showing the content between the segments using this filter.  Trados Studio typically moves external tags out of the translatable content so you have less work to do and can focus on the translation, not unnecessary tags.
