I cannot start Trados Studio 2019 because of an unexpected token issue in a file

Hi there!

Yesterday I opened a translation file (project 1) in Trados Studio 2019, and I could work on it. This morning, I worked on a different project (project 2) and when I finished, I closed Trados and switched off my laptop.

Now, I want to open project 2 to continue working on it, but when I open Trados Studio I get this error on the file for project 1:

Error loading project from [path]: error in XML document (204, 38). '>' is un unexpected token. '=' was expected, line 204, position 38.

When I close the window, Trados closes. So, I cannot work anymore with Trados until this is fixed.

Error message in Trados Studio stating 'Error loading project from path: error in XML document (204, 38). '>' is an unexpected token. '=' was expected, line 204, position 38.' with an 'Accept' button at the bottom.

The source file is an xliff export from Smartling. I opened it in Notepadd++ but I cannot seem to find line 204. There is no <linenumber> tag, and when I went to line 204 in Notepad++, I saw this: </trans-unit>. Nothing seems to be wrong here, as this is the tag to close translation unit.

Can anyone help? I have repaired Trados, I have used Freshstart, I have also use that solution of changing the name of the settings files, but nothing seems to work, and I need to deliver project 2 asap.

Thanks!

Alicia
