- After 30 years of researching and teaching at universities, I continued to work as a full-time translator and, subsequently, have been using Studio since version 2007 and have amassed huge TMs and Termbases, which I have streamlined down to smaller subject-matter-based contents, i.e. finances, patents etc.
- I have arrived at Studio 2021!
- After Studio 2015, I started having the “gnawing feeling” that the “Studio engine” had difficulty to satisfy my expectations for quick, accurate and true word recognitioning, among other things. After years of accumulating data, one knows for certain that certain phrases or terms should “appear” and they just don’t…sometimes this was solved by using the concordance search facility.
- While still using Studio 2017, I started working on very large projects and apart from system crashes, unreliable propagation etc., I also occasionally experience “out of memory” occurrences of late.
- I am using 2 oldish PCs with 4 screens, the hardware of which had been upgraded by a family member in the course of time.
- Now, and this is why I am writing here: we are planning to build a Studio-specific computer and would like to receive information on processors (i9 AMD or Intel?), what role does a graphic cards play in Studio and which one should one select in this gaming age??
