I compared the word "cursor" in 2021 and 2022.
When it was in bold, I will admit the active cursor placement between the s | o | r was significantly different.

In 2022 its like the cursor is overlapping with the o, making it hard to tel that if you delete what is actually being deleted.


I can imagine for some fonts the impact will be more than others so I have escalated to support / development to see what they say.

Indeed I think you inadvertently found one of the few work arounds.As there are two:

• Enable the "Show all tags but do not show formatting" option in the Studio settings
• Increase the font adaptation: display improves with the size of the font

To confirm though that issue had already been reported to engineering: CRQ-29205.

I hope this gives you some comfort in that we are aware and working towards a fix

I'm having the same issue but the first option does not help at all.

Regarding the second one, I’d have to adapt font from 12 to 14 which really hurts in my eyes. I hope this will be solved soon.

do you have the latest updates of Trados Studio 2022?

My version is Trados Studio 2022 - 17.0.4.13209, and I didn't note similar problems with last versions..

Peter Brezina as Saulius Stulas confirmed, the item I raised with development CRQ-29205 has been looked into and improvements were made that falls part of Studio 2022 CU1.  However, in some combinations of language and font type, a similar problem to what the Community user reported against 2022 may still replicate and so efforts are ongoing under new item LG-34790

If you are on 2022 CU1 and the problems persist, then possible workarounds till LG-34790 gets resolved could be if either of these settings on Options dialog are modified:

• Editor > Formatting display style > Show all tags but do not show formatting, or;
• Editor > Font Adaptation > Adapt font sizes > increase the size of "Minimum target font size" from the default value.

I'm afraid this cursor problem persists despite me having made the suggested settings modifications. When will this be fixed?
