I have a PO file which when opened in Studio 2021 triggers the error message:
However, opening the file in Studio 2022 works fine.
What could be the cause of this?
Additional information: if I try to preview the file in Studio 2021, I get this:
This happens on two different instances of Studio 2021 CU 10. Resetting the filetype settings to default also did not help solve the problem.
Any suggestion?

Would you have an idea why this is not working?
I tried on another instance of Studio and got the same result.
My guess, without being able to see a sample of the file, is that there is something in the file that Studio doesn't like such as blank lines at the start , or a msgctxt context information before the first occurrence of the msgid and msgstr entries, or something like that. If it works in 2022 we probably fixed a bug along these lines and didn't back port it to the version of 2021 you are using.

Does this mean that 'msgctxt' needs to follow 'msgid'?
This is how the start of the file looks:
, which would not comply with the syntax!
Or that you cannot have a 'msgctxt' for the first 'msgid'?
I moved the first line and now the file is accepted by Studio 2021.

I think it's only if msgctxt is in the first line of the file. So even if you added a comment above it I think it'll probably process, but you'd need to test.
