For the past 3 days, Studio 2011 crashes when I try to open a project. Studio has been working perfectly well for the past two years. I have tried removing and reinstalling. Same problem.

Do not understand. Studio just says : Windows will close this program.

  • Any kind of project or a specific one? What happens, if you remove this project from the list and add it again?
Does your list contain all the projects from the past? If so, remove them all, leaving only the few you are working on now.

  • The problem is with all projects. Before deleting and reinstalling Studio 2011 and Multiterm 2011, I removed all the projects I was working on from Studio and from my computer, then I deleted Studio and Multiterm, then I reinstalled Studio and Multiterm, then I uploaded the projects again. So there were no projects either on Studio or on my computer.
  • Remove the settings files (*.xml) from here and try again:
    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\11.0.0.0

  • Can't find C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\11.0.0.0; found C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\10.0.0.0. There are BaseSettings, plugincache and UserSettings that are .xml files. Is that what you mean?
  • Yes that's what he meant.

  • Hey! It worked! Still takes a long time (around 10 minutes) for a project, and then for a .sdlxliff file to open, but in the end Studio does not crash. Sincere thanks for your help! By the way, there is another .xml file under SDL Trados Studio; it's called Version Manager and is pratically non-existent (1 Ko). Would deleting it also accelerate the opening of files?
