How to change segmentation rules in Trados 2022?

I haven't changed segmentation rules in a long time, but now, with Trados 2022 it does not seem to work like it used to any more.

I cannot find the answer anywhere.

Could anybody please show me the way?

  • As  says, the TM settings are specific to the TM and should be the same whether viewed from Studio 2021 or Studio 2022... Similarly, any project settings will be same between versions too.

I thought you might find it useful to know... If you would like Studio 2022 to have the same profile settings as you had in Studio 2021 (i.e. settings you can change via File>Options), you can export your user profile settings from Studio 2021 and then import them into Studio 2022.

    Here is how:

NB: When I did this, I found I couldn't save my current user settings in 2022 at this step:

Trados Studio Manage User Profiles dialog box with Backup User Settings section. Option selected to not back up, overwrite current settings. Browse button highlighted.

If you find that happens to you, just click on 'Do not back up...'

This will be useful if there are profile settings you have customised in Studio 2021, to save you time going through them to update them... It won't affect any settings that are new in Studio 2022, it'll just leave those as Default.

    I hope this helps!
