Trados Studio 2021 SR2 does not start after updating a plugin and Windows update

Dear support team,

I hope you can help with my issue. Two days ago I updated a plugin and installed a recent Windows update. Now I can't open Trados - the start screen flashes for a millisecond and that's it. There is some kind of error screen as well, but it flashes and then disappears. In Task Manager, Trados is running in the background. I have tried all of the methods mentioned in similar theads and also uninstalled the recent Windows update to no avail.

Many thanks in advance,

Selga

  • First make sure you do not have any plugins installed as you may have one that needed to be updated to support the latest release of 2021 SR2.

Please close Trados Studio, delete these folders and restart Trados Studio:

     c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins

     c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins

     c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins

If that does not help then please create a new thread and don't piggy back on one that already has a case assigned to it.  This way we can convert your specific issue to a support case easily to get you some assistance from the technical support team.
