Update. First of all, I meant to say Studio 2022 17.0.0.11594 (the version in the headline refers to Studio 2021).
After updating to Trados Studio 2021 SR2_16.2.12.9338, now I can use Studio 2021 again. Good news. In fact in "About Trados Studio" it says "This product is licensed with an upgrade license. The license is maintained as long as Trados Studio 2022 is licensed on this machine."
The problem now is trying to start Studio 2022:
I get this error message:
If I rename or delete the "Plugins" directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17\PlugIns, then the program tries to start but in less than a second it shuts down.

Ideally I need to see the entire strack trace reason being: it could be a clue as to which app is causing the issue.

Take note your intention to resolve the issue was correct, but the path is wrong. It would be C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio

The links above refer to previous versions of Studio 2022, not specifically to Studio 2022. Like I said, I can start Studio 2021 but the problem lies in Studio 2022.
I verified that the stack trace is still the same (as shown in the second link above). Same error stack trace as in previous Studio versions.

I deleted and also renamed the 'Plugins' folder here
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins
but Studio 2022, after trying to start up, recreates this folder and the same error comes up again.
