Adding space between the segments in the editor

Is it possible to add a space (empty line) between segments in the editor for better visibility?

As you can see in the example below, there are cases where this feature could be very helpful

Screenshot of Trados Studio editor showing segments 2670 and 2671 without space in between. Segment 2670 ends with 'HEPCO-Motion:(2x)' and segment 2671 starts with 'Handschmierstelle:(1)'.

A space between segments 2670 and 2671 would make it easier to see where the first segment ends and the next starts.

Thanks

I also think Oana is on the right track here.  If I try to replicate the problem I see this:

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing a list of items with German words such as 'Handschmierstelle' and quantities in parentheses.

I don't have any background formatting to the letters and the difference between segments is clear.  If you don't see a solution here perhaps you can provide a small file containing only a representative couple of segments in an sdlxliff that display exactly as you have them here?

You could also play with the font adaptation as this contains options for improving the visibility when there is a lack of contrast.  It may help:

Trados Studio options menu with 'Font Adaptation' settings open, showing sliders for minimum and maximum font sizes and a checkbox for 'Adapt text colors'.

Having said all of this I do think Kelly was trying to answer the question in his own way by thinking ahead on how to specifically add a space between the segments.  He's correct in that it's impossible at the moment because there are no options in the UI to manage this, and he clearly looked at how this could be done programmatically. The conclusion is that it's not possible even for a 3rd party developer because we have no API for this and "hacking it" won't work either.  The only way would be to create a new View that replicated the editor, or for the development team to make the appropriate changes to support this. So if you still want to be able to control the spacing, or apply some other type of control to the segment display, then I suggest you create an idea and see whether it's something the team will pick up for a future release.
