I have installed Trados Studio 2022 only today and cannot seem to upload / open .tmx files provided by the customer.
I have tried to download and install a plug-in which might or might not solve the issue but receive an error message every single time.
Needless to say that I am frustrated already (starting with having to use VM because Trados isn't compatible with Mac OS).
Can someone help me, please?

As far as I know, you've got just to create a TM and import the tmx file.
It sounds to me as though you want to use the "Quick Upgrade" feature. If you don't then the solution is exactly as Beate said... you create a TM and import the TMX.

Unfortunately the app that is available to put them back did not include the "Quick Upgrade" feature, so you are indeed back to two choices in fact:
But on the later please note that if yu have fields/attributes in the TMX you want to support then only the first option will be useful... "maybe!" I say "maybe" because it also depends on how the TMX was produced.

I will try the suggested solution(s) as soon as I can get Trados Studio to work. At present, it keeps crashing on me after displaying an error message. Uninstall / Repair did not make any difference. Will invest some time and nerves into getting behind all this on Saturday.
