Ctrl+ L supposedly lock "selected" segment"s" but it won't.
My PC has 32GB RAM on 64bit Windows OS respectively but never successul in confirming more than three segments at once
- how much RAM do you need to confirm several segments at once or am I in the wrong short cut?

I assume its not just locked segments that trouble you, but anything that requires batch segment changes?
I also assume you have had times when it works well then not based on your PC spec being the same but what is different are the files?
By the sounds of it, your specs fall in the recommended range but saying that there is always a balance between PC spec and file size.
Does batch segment selection work when you have smaller files?
Where is your project/file saved to? Meaning local to your machine (direct under C drive) or is it on a network(or linked to Dropbox/OneDrive)?
Anything not deemed direct & local may cause delay in responsiveness so its worth exploring this.
