Your suspect is correct. The solution is very simple: do not store anything Studio-related in any cloud. Store all files locally and use cloud as backup.

Dear Jerzy Czopik,
Thank you for your reply.
Can you direct me where to find info/videos on how to deal with translation memory saving for Trados, then backup on a cloud, etc.? Because I had at least 3 laptops that were out of order this year alone.
Is there any explanation anywhere about the problem between Studio-related files and cloud storage?
Also, how do I restore my translation memories to be used again while I'm working?
What you are asking here is a simple method of storing files. Studio does not differ from any other Windows programs. You can save files wherever you want.
Put all your files to a folder which is not in a cloud. You can then open projects in Studio with the command "Open project" from the ribbon in Projects view. Studio will then tell you, that TM/TB is not found. Simply point Studio to a new location of the TM/TB and that's more or less all.
For synchronizing folders with a cloud use a synchronization tool, for example Allway Sync.
If you have trouble with managing files and folders, take a special PC course on that.
