Hi,
When defining an XML file type based on XML 2, I have discovered the following bugs:
1) If I provide an XSL template file for previewing, it is only applied in the internal Preview window, but when clicking on the View Target button in the Quick Access Toolbar, the preview simply shows the plain XML file (in Notepad or in a browser), and the XSL template is not applied at all. This worked fine for XML file types based on XML 1.3.0.0.
2) My XML file type has translatable attributes, which I have entered using XPath.
- when I define them as "Inline" with special formatting (bold, italics, colour), the formatting is simply ignored.
- no matter hot the attibutes are defined, inline or structure, as soon as any kind of preview is generated (internal (eye icon, XSL correctly applied) or external (View Target, no XSL applied), I get the warning message "Tags are not supported inside attribute values" as many times as there are translatable attributes in the document. This seems to be independent on whether I have an XSL template attached to the file type or not.
This behaviour seems to be present in both Studio 2021 SR2 CU9 as well as Studio 2022 CU4.
The preview bug could be avoided by using XML 1.3.0.0 but that one is not available in Studio 2022, and attributes cannot be defined as structural tags in 1.3.0.0. And XML 2 has the above problems.
Could you please verify and look into the issue?
Thank you,
Attila
