Strange characters (greek maybe?) in some segments of Studio 2022

I'm using Trados Studio 2022 - 17.0.4.13209. Some segments of a document appear in Greek characters. I tried to play with Font Adaptation in File/Options/Editor but it didn't help.Screenshot of Trados Studio 2022 showing segments of a document with Greek characters, segment numbers 116 and 117 highlighted with font adaptation issue.

Thank you

  • Hi

    Sorry nobody answered you yet!

I'm going to guess that this is related to font support first of all as I know this displays correctly for you in an older version of Studio.  If your older version is on the same computer then maybe try a couple of things... first try adapting the fonts for the language you are working with:

Trados Studio options window showing Font Adaptation settings with minimum and maximum font sizes, adapt text colors option, and custom language fonts selection for Afar (Djibouti).

Second, try changing the formatting display style to not show formatting at all:

Trados Studio options window with Editor settings showing Startup options, Opening files preferences, and Formatting display style set to 'Show all tags but do not show formatting'.

If you are using a different computer then make sure that the font being used in the document you are translating is also installed in your version of windows.
