Apps are simple to put back using the integrated appstore.

Not sure why... I don't lose these when we get updates. But I guess you could back up your user profile and import it again after you upgrade. But I would only do this within each major release. So I would not use a user profile created in 2021 in 2022 for example. But I would use one created in 2022 CU1 in 2022 CU5 for example.
