Using Studio 2021 I noticed that Find & Relace seems to treat all searches as Regex searches regardless of the search mode.
It is probably the validation in the textboxes since escaping the brackets enables search but doesn't find anything
I believe the problem is related to this:
If you check the box, disable regular expressions, then uncheck it again then the problem doesn't occur. This is also a problem in 2022 and I'm pretty sure this was logged a long time ago as a bug... but doesn't appear to have made the cut for resolution.
