Anti-Malware Service Reporting Studio and/or DLL Files to be Threats

Greetings!

We've just started using Studio 2022.

Our anti-malware service, Webroot, has detected Studio 2022 and/or some of the DLL files (including "ko-KR/SDL-FileTypeSupport.Filters.GenericDelimited.resources.dll" and "zh-cn/SDL-LanguagePlatform.MTConnectors.LanguageWeaver.resources.dll") to be threats.

In the past, we've had to add prior versions of Studio (including 2021, 2019, 2017, and 2014) as well as corresponding MultiTerm releases to the the anti-malware allow/exception list, for our userbase to be able to use the products.

I imagine program files being denied access to Trados Studio could indeed affect the running of the application.  What have you experienced so far?

We don't have any responsibility for making sure Trados Studio will work with your chosen anti-virus application.  In this thread as you can see I was mostly interested because I hadn't come across this vendor before.  They were very responsive, I provided them with details of the MD5 that they requested and this should allow them to ensure their database includes the Trados Studio installer footprint and not raise false alarms that are a cause for concern.

They then came back to me and said this:

We have made some adjustments. Please allow 24 to 48 hours to see this change, as it will be available in the next database update.
Thank you for contacting Webroot BrightCloud Support. If you have any further questions or concerns, please consult our FAQ page, here: https://www.brightcloud.com/tools/change-request.php#faq.

So, I think your options are these:

    1. manually add the problem files to your exclusion list (if you're sure these are files that were put there by the Trados Studio application)
    2. create a change request as they suggested and include the link to this thread
