Multilingual XML: embedded HTML content cannot be processed: structure tag was found inside inline tag

I am trying to process this enclosed, quite simple xml file.

However, when I try to process html content in all paragraphs, this error message appears:

Warning message in Trados Studio stating 'Structure tag was found inside inline not translatable tag code. Please ensure only inline tags are defined as children of inline not translatable tags.' with an OK button.

When I try to process CDATA, html is not recognized. I also get exactly the same message, when trying to process an Excel file with exactly the same content as the xml. Notepad++ does validate this xml ok. So where is the culprit?
