My T2022 not using my previous TMs

Dear All, hope you can help me solve the issue I have. I recently bought and installed new Trados 2022 version. When I started to use it, It was as though I started nearly from scratch, since it was not using my old translations. I exported all settings from my Trados 2021 and imported them to Trados 2022, but the result was the same. I tried to process some of documents which were I translated a  few months ago for test, but instead of translating 100% of the content, it only translated some 2%, as if it was using some old, non-updated TM. I updated my TM (it had a yellow triangle mark in the settings view before I did that, indicating, I suppose, that it wasn't updated) but the result was 2% again. So, all this time, I have been using my T2021 which works flawlessly. Any ideas what might solve my problem? BR, Zoran

The settings are not responsible for what you expect. Your previous translations are stored in your TMs and you are the only person in the world to know, where these are located. Look on your PC for *.sdltm files. To continue working with not finished projects, go to the folders where you stored those and look for *.sdlproj files. You should be able to register these projects by double clicking such files or from within Trados Studio - Projects view, command "Open project".

On top of this I would highly recommend you to attend a webinar or seminar on Studio basics, as your question shows a complete lack of understanding how Trados Studio works.

  • Well, thanks for a prompt reply. As regards my actions regarding settings and updating that I described above, that's exactly what I was instructed to do by the technical support operators on trados.com. So I guess I'm not the only one having problems with understanding how Trados Studio works. Yes, I may not well versed in some technical issues. I've been using Trados since 2016 intensively and this is the first time I have encountered such a serious problem.
