User profile - content

When exporting af my 2021 user profile for use in SDL Trados 2022 so that I keep my settings it seems that not everything comes with it.

Is there somewhere that I can see what is included?

I have a freelance plus and I want to have two identical environments so if the user profile could contain everything it would be nice, but it doesn’t seem so.

Is there somewhere that I can see what is included?

This is a very good question... and I don't think there is.  The help documentation gives you this:

    https://docs.rws.com/980998/341958/trados-studio-2022/profiles-for-------------trados-studio-users

    Essentially this:

    Your profile contains:

    • User settings (for example, custom keyboard shortcuts, custom look and feel, selected Spell Checker)
    • Default project settings (for example, default language pairs, translation memories, termbases, AutoSuggest dictionaries, automated translation providers, file types, translation memory settings, batch processing settings)

    But it's not exhaustive.

if the user profile could contain everything it would be nice, but it doesn’t seem so.

Perhaps work the other way around and tell us what's missing?  Then we may be able to help you with this problem as you may be expecting something that's not actually held in here.

Also, one trick that might be helpful is to export your profile and then open it in a text editor.  Fold it (if you have a decent text editor) and just display the headings:

Screenshot of Trados Studio user profile XML file showing various settings groups such as Studio, ProjectManagementService, and SpellCheckUserPreferences.

Might be helpful in a techy sort of way.
