Content control elements are read even though unwanted

Question

When I open the enclosed file, all content control elements appear in my Studio, however I was instructed not to translate these. I have tested all possible combinations of settings in the corresponding file type to no avail. Please advise, how to avoid reading such elements. Of course I know how to avoid translating them in editor, but the customer needs the translation in various languages and does not want to have these elements (there are many in the original source) to appear in the wordcount.

I'm pretty sure you've tried this option: what I would do is block the segments and discard them from the Trados analysis. 
 In the Trados analysis option, it is possible to configure not to count blocked items. 
 May be I do not understand well. Just wanted to be helpful.

 You understood perfectly and this option always exists. But this introduces high work amount for the PM when preparing the job into several languages. I now how to deal with filtering and these elements are easy to find, but you need to open the file to be able to do that. Some option would be the Toolkit, but this is also time consuming. The better option would be to exclude such elements upfront.
