This sounds more like fragment matching, or a concordance result that is being presented via autosuggest.  TM matches do not appear automatically by typing.  Can you share a screenshot perhaps?

Are you sure you are not finding a concordance search result as opposed to a TM lookup?

I think it might help if you can share a screenshot of what you're looking at so we can see what you do.
