Slow switching between Editor and Translation Results/Concordance window

Hello. I have the following problem. Since I moved from Windows 7 to Windows 10, every time I switch between Editor and Translation Results/Concordance window, i.e. when I change the position of the mouse cursor, there is a slight delay and the "grinding wheel" appears. This happens both in Trados 2019 and 2021. It doesn't matter how big is the file. It's very annoying because it wasn't happening under Windows 7 (the same PC: Intel Core i5-2500 CPU @ 3.50GHz, 16 GB of RAM and SSD drive). I also noticed that when I click either window, the whole menu (ribbon) changes, i.e. some options become greyed out or black. I think the grinding wheel may be connected with the action of refreshing the menus. Minimizing the ribbon doesn't help. I think it may be related to Windows 10 settings but I don't know where to look. I attach an example below.

  • Hello,

I understand that you're experiencing a delay when switching between the Editor and Translation Results/Concordance window in Trados Studio 2019 and 2021 on your Windows 10 system. This could be due to a number of factors, but let's try a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Reset Trados Studio to its default state. This can be done by going to the "File" menu, selecting "Setup", and then "Reset to Default Settings". Please note that this will remove any custom settings you have applied.

Step 2: Update your Trados Studio to the latest version. This can be done within the application itself. Regular updates often include performance improvements that could resolve your issue.

Step 3: Check your Windows 10 settings. Ensure that your system is up to date and that there are no background processes that could be causing the delay.

Step 4: If the problem persists, you might want to consider reinstalling Trados Studio. Please remember to back up your translation memories and other important data before doing so.

I hope these steps help to resolve the issue you're experiencing. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Best regards,
