Hello all, I first learned to use old-shool, pre Studio Trados, then transitioned to Trados Studio 2011 the year after the product's launch more or less, and with Paul's help, got my file type settings sorted and all that. Well, now I'm using Studio 2021 and it's been a long time since our file types were synced with my company's DTDs, so I thought it wise to create some new file type settings.
One would think it would be fairly straightforward but apparently not. I keep getting this error message once I browse to the desired DTD file and hit the Next button in the wizard: "Error opening import file! Length cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: length"
Our translatable files are in SGML format, and as before, I'm starting with picking HTML from the options in the first screen encountered when creating a new file type. Then on the next screen I give it a user friendly name, and at that point the RWS documentation on this says I also have to set up a "unique" file type identifier. Can that be anything? The default that appears there is "Copy of Html File v 2.0.0.0" -- do I have to change that to something different for every type of file? Maybe the problem is that on my attempts so far I haven't changed that parameter. I make sure to change the File type wildcard expression to .sgm, just as I did before.
Anyway, I have no idea how to interpret that error message about the length parameter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
