Autosubstitution settings in English - Need space after unit for measurements but no space before unit for currency, but the setting selected applies to both

Hi,

In English, we would like not to have a space between the $ and the number, but we would like to have a space after most of the measurement units. If I choose one of the settings regarding spaces in the Autosubstitution settings, it applies for both currencies and measurements. Is there a way to tell Studio to add the space just for measurements but not for currencies?
Thanks.

  • Hi Lydia. Our TMs are French-Canada into English-Canada.
So, the format for currency would be $500,000, without a space between the unit and the number. However, if we choose the third option "Never use a space between the number and the unit" to get that result, that means that for all the other cases where we need a space between the number and the unit (almost always for measurements) we would need to add it manually.
Here is the result of applying that third option. The first two segments are correct, not so the last four. Thanks.

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing two segments with currency formatted correctly as $50,000 and $200,000 without space between the number and unit.
