Hello everyone, I have a question with "verify" function.

In a file, the segments beginning with “http” are automatically translated accidentally (that is, the translated segments should be identical with the original one, but now they are different.). If I want to use the "verify" function to filter out these segments (that is, if the translated segments are not identical with the original one, let them be displayed as errors), How to set up the verification tool? Would you please give me some advice?
Thank you!

There are many ways forward depending on context, including project progress & file type.

    Options range from:

    • File type configuration (Pre project creation)

Example in the case of MS, users can choose if they want hyperlinks to be managed:

Trados Studio screenshot showing file type configuration options for Microsoft Word with 'Extract Hyperlinks' checked.

    • Tagging (pre/post project creation)

In some cases as part of project preparation users can use embedded content processors and tag instances that match http.
So moving forward, translators manage tags and not the content of the hyperlink.

Post project preparation, I would highly recommend this app Trados Data Protection Suite
This will allow you to define rules based on a patter such as http and once again tag it.

      Summary:

If you work with tags you are almost always guaranteed that source will match target
    • Verification configuration (post project creation)

If there other details to your request that is not apparent such as, whereby you wish to assess hyperlinks individually then there are 2 options:

      1. Advanced custom checks supported via Regular Expressions:

Trados Studio screenshot displaying the QA Checker 3.0 with Regular Expressions section expanded but fields empty.

      2.  Simple comparisons: Word lists

Trados Studio error message indicating a wrong word detected 'https' with suggestion to correct form 'http'.

Last tip if you simply want to review but not to necessarily enforce a QA on it, you can use the Advanced Display Filter and perform a basic search

Trados Studio Advanced Display Filter 2.0 with a search field containing 'http' to filter segments.

My personal favourite are: Trados Data Protection Suite and word lists but of course its dependent on context

I hope all of this helps and is of use to you
