Trados Studio 2021 Slow Network Performance

Hello,

I'm currently working with a client who uses Trados Studio 2021 SR2, where the application is installed locally on users workstations and files are stored on a SMB share, hosted by a Windows Server.

However, users are reporting performance issues with Trados Studio, where the application can often hang and take a very long time to initially open.

Would anyone be able to confirm if SMB share is working fine for them and any recommendations that could help.

Thanks!

  • Check your network speed. Curcial is the location of TMs and TBs. If these are on a network share and not local, the speed may go rapidly down. I have all my project files located on a local NAS (SMB share), but ALL TBs and TMs are on a locak NVMe SSD. This way working is OK. However, a gigabit network must deliver really high speed, otherwise it will get very slow.
