Multilingual Excel: length verification between Trados versions

 I have a question regarding the character length checks in the Multilingual Excel Filetype. I've prepared a project and checked to see if the character check worked (and it did!) but after sending the project package to the translator who works on an older Trados edition (2019 I believe), they did not get any character check errors, even if the segment was very obviously over the limit. 
 The translator could edit the package normally, it's just that after running the Verify task no character limit related errors came up. 
 
 Is this behaviour intended? I'd like to make sure whether it's the lack of backward compatibility between the Trados versions or a bug.

 As you can see from the plugin&rsquo;s page ( https://appstore.rws.com/Plugin/17), the Multilingual Excel FileType plugin works only on Trados Studio 2022, so your translator with an older version won&rsquo;t be able to run the specific checks that the plugin offers. 
 If the length limitation is the same for all cells, then the translator could use the length limitation built in Trados (Project Settings > Verification > QA Checker > Length Verification). 
 Otherwise, I&rsquo;d create the Excel target file and add a function to a temporary column in order to compare the length of the target translation with the length limit. Correct in Trados as needed, checking the character length in the status bar of Trados Studio check to ensure the limit is not exceeded. Repeat the process to confirm everything is OK. Maybe another colleague has another idea&hellip;
