Error Object reference not set to an instance of an object when adding a file to an existing project

Question

Hi, I'm using Studio 2022 Freelance. I get this error when I added a Word file to a project that has several files in it that have already been translated.

Hi Michelle Washington , 
 I would suggest first checking the integrity of the source files, in case these are the culprit. For this, you can try to open them as single files for translation, also use this article to help you further troubleshooting them:

 Secondly, the project you're mentioning, is it local or cloud -based project? 
 Finally, When adding the files to the project, did you use the "Quick add files" or "add files and run custom batch tasks" option? For the second option - customized batch options, reason being, while in the Perfect match step, did you add files to it? 
 
 After we know more, we can troubleshoot further
