Verification settings in Templates

I wonder how many people are aware of the default settings in QA Checker 3.0?

I only mention it because when recreating my Project templates in Studio 2015, I was reminded that most of the checks are not enabled, and it is worth running through them (Project Settings > Verification > QA Checker 3.0) whenever a new template is created.

Packages received from translation company clients are invariably in default (unchecked) mode - it's worth noting that the package settings will apply rather than one's own!

  • Absolutely, Michael,

I heartily endorse your notification, very useful. I customise the QA and verification settings before I verify every job. It's really useful to be able to change them according to content and client.

Actually, one of my clients does use templates very efficiently, that have different verification settings and also autosubstitution settings, dependent on language pair, file format and end customer preferences. These come through via their packages and the resulting projects overrule settings in File>Options.

Project settings always apply over settings made in File>Options (apart from the settings that are only in File>Options, of course).

    Thanks!
