Ribbon customization unstable - long-dated problem still unsolved

I’ve been trying time and again to customize the various ribbons and the quick access toolbar of Studio’s interface. I recently add a comment (with a somewhat angry tone, my apologies) on a question opened 7 years ago (which I could also have opened myself at that time), but I’m reopening a new discussion with the hope that it might be solved once and for all. I’m really wondering if someone has ever taken into account this bug and embarked on troubleshooting it. Sometimes, adding or deleting UI elements is applied, sometimes not. And sometimes, closing the application resets all changes, or just a few. I’ve spent much time trying to get some understanding of this customization function, in case I missed something, to no avail. I’ve been using the various successive versions of Trados Studio, and I’m what you can call an IT « power user ». But I’m not at a developer level (let’s say I’m a seasoned driver, but not a mechanic). This being said, I would expect the customization to be relatively user-friendly.

Is there any hope to have this function working properly any time soon?

Changed to Question.

Having seen your other posts about losing the default paths I am mighty suspicious of your environment.  I ran a few simple tests and whilst I do think the ribbon customisation isn't the most stable feature in Studio... so I'm not surprised you have a few problems... I don't suffer with the issues you mentioned here.  I can create these sort of shortcuts and they stick.

Perhaps you can elaborate a little on your environment... do you use OneDrive for example and is it synching (or attempting to synch) too much by including too many user folders?
