Studio 2015 - OCR??? Autosuggest + AutoHotKey???

I purchased a brand new Studio 2015 license, one of the reasons was the announced OCR function. But now I´m absolutely disappointed. The results are - with one word - POOR. 95% of the "recognized" german and czech texts are unusable! I tried to recognize the same texts with a 15 years old version of FineReader, which I got with a scanner, and this ancient program has 200% better results! I really feel cheated - the OCR was one of the TOP features in the 2015-Advertisments - and it does not work at all!
Another Problem with Studio 2015: The Autosuggest function is in conflict with my "AutoHotKey"-Shortcuts. I´m using AHK for typing shortcuts, e.g. I write "fz" and get the word "Fahrzeug", or "idr" gives "in der Regel". But this does not work in the new Version 2015 when Autosuggest tries to suggest a word beginning with the same letter - in this case my AHK shortcuts does not appear, instead of my shortcut Autosuggest deletes the whole word I wrote, only the first letter remains and I get offered something from Autosuggest.  Funny is, that AHK was recommended to my by some guy from SDL 1 year ago, as I claimed, that my customized "ALT+something" shortcuts were removed by the not customizable ribbon shortcuts :-((
So much my 2-days-exprerience with STUDIO 2015.
Disappointing, that´s my first impression.

May be one question: Is there a way to import my own "autoorrect-entries" into to the AutoCorrect export file? It could solve my problem with AHK. I tried this by copying my entries into the AutoCorrect export file with the same format (each row has this format: e.g. "       <Entry src="a-s" trg="A-Säule" />"), but after the import I get this error:

Thank you for your suggestions!

  • Hi Adrian,

I won't comment on the OCR as you've raised this separately in a thread later on and that is being well discused.

On the AHK.  Have you tried changing your AHK scripts so there is no clash?  There is no way we can assure compatibility with AHK for every user because this is a scripting tool, customised by each user, and it's up to you to ensure you script it so that it's suitable to work withy the tools you wish.

Perhaps you can create a new script, add in just one of your timesavers and then see what you need to do so that it works.  Studio 2015 has an autocorrect capability already as you noted so you could import them.  I just tested it and it worked fine for me.  You are not showing your error message so I'm not sure what to suggest?  Main point to note is you need to add your settings to the existing or you overwrite them... unless you want to only have your AHK settings?  The defaults are the ones from MSWord.
