There is no feature in Trados Studio to do this for a specific word.  It'll be all or nothing.  Maybe a simple search & replace would work for you?  Can you give us your usecase here?

I am translating from Dutch to French. And for example, the Dutch abreviation 'IPA' is used repeately in the type of text that I am translating. And because these 3 letters have no common abreviation in French, I need to translated in full as 'Conseiller interne en prévention', which is quite long. It would be much faster if every occurrence of 'IPA' in source segements came automatically pre-translated as 'Conseiller interne en prévention' in all target segments. Thanks

ok - two or four ways at least to solve your problem:

• search & replace IPA at the end of your translation.  That has to be the fastest and easiest.
• add 'Conseiller interne en prévention' as an AutoText so it is prompted as you start to type the letters
• use AutoHotkey so the letters IPA change to 'Conseiller interne en prévention' after you type them
• use the Terminjector from the appstore.  This can actually translate the terms for you when you pre-translate if you use this as the translation provider
